High Low Hemline Skirts

A lovely subscriber requested that I make a styling video about how to style high low hemline skirts, otherwise known as the asymmetrical skirt.

I got this asymmetrical skirt from Urban Outfitters at the beginning of this summer. The fabric is soft and airy, perfection. I also love the pattern, stores seem to be overflowing with polka dot printed skirts like this and I just feel like so it’s overdone. This skirt has a unique and quirky triangle pattern that makes it more fun and versatile!

1. Casual Look

My first look is how to wear this skirt casually. I see so many bloggers wear these skirts with sky high heels and all that fancy stuff, but that’s not always practical in everyone’s life. If you want to make any skirt look more casual, try pairing it with a graphic t-shirt and some flats.

2. Vintage inspired

If you want to dress a look up a bit, heels are a must! I’ve paired the skirt with some chunky suede heels and a sleeveless nude lace top  for a more feminine touch. I’m also wearing my wannabe Chanel quilted chain strap purse. For a more polished look, tuck in you blouse in the front or all around. Play with accessories! I’m wearing a choker underneath the collar of my blouse for a more modern approach.

3. Tribal feel

I love mixing prints for summer! If you can’t tell, I also love tan leather pieces. I’m wearing this tribal printed dress as a tube top along with a tan coloured belt which also has a tribal print. Thin belts are great for accentuating the waist line, but wearing a slim fit on top with a belt like this adds to the slimming effect.

4. Simply boho

Bohemian styles have been around for a few summers now. I love how all of these pieces work together, from this floral fringe robe (or kimono), the purple tank and printed skirt. This look is better suited to someone who likes to look carefree. I love the mid-drift trend that is going on this summer, particularly because you don’t even need abs to do it. Oh! I had to throw in this chocker because of its triangular pendant, which compliments the skirt pattern.
