I’ve wanted to film and photograph an outfit inspired by what she wore at the Inglourious Basterds premiere, back in 2009. I gravitaded toward this look because it’s a classic and will be wearable for years to come, if not forever.
She wore the following:
- black mini skater skirt
- white button down shirt with a studded collar
- black quilted Chanel flap purse
- black Mary Jane sling back platforms

I didn’t have a studded collar button down, so I opted for this silky pijama inspired shirt instead. I love that this shirt has a hound’s tooth textured fabric and black trim on the pocket and sleeve cuffs.

On bottom, I am wearing a mini skater skirt that I thrifted a year ago. You can find these everywhere in all price ranges:
The platform heels are not quite what she wore at the premiere. Though, she typically wears the coveted Prada platforms that I have blogged about before, see here. Various designer collections have featured two strap heels, such as Alexander Wang, Lanvin, Carven and much more!

I snagged this quilted circle purse from Ardene a couple of years ago. This purse features a silver chain shoulder strap. It’s the closest thing that I own to a Chanel purse and it cost me a mere $15! Too bad Ardene rarely makes purses I would considered purchase worthy.

Alexa Chung is also known to wear slippers, she might have even been the one to have brought them in style! I opted for these velvet slippers from Zara. You can find them in a range of different materials or types of embellishments to suit your taste. Similar slipper shoes:
