OPI Designer.. De Better was from a 2011 holiday collection called the OPI Muppets Collection. I used this polish in a french tip manicure tutorial, but I’ve never dedicated an entire post to this polish.
In my opinion, metallic polishes like gold, silver and bronze are extremely wearable with most outfits and throughout many seasons. I like to think of it as adding bling to your nails.
OPI Designer.. De Better Swatch and Review
Designer.. De Better is an opaque silver polish with fine glitter, the finish is similar to Warm & Fozzie from the same collection. I also find the wear of it similar to Sephora by OPI Rumba Romance, but that has much finer glitter. It is definitely not a standard silver polish, I can see tiny glitters that reflect different colors. This polish is described as a foil finish filled with flecks of copper and pink.
This type of metallic polish is definitely easier to wear than the Mirror Metallics that essie released last summer 2012. It looks great with 2-3 coats, easy application and I can wear it for up to 3-4 days without chipping. I’m not sure why, but when it chips, it’s never too obvious like with cream polishes. Designer.. De Better has a finish that is more difficult to remove than other types of lacquer, but I think it’s great to wear on a busy week when you cannot be bothered with frequent manicure sessions.
What are your thoughts on foil finish lacquers? if you have any recommendations for other polishes with this finish, let me know. I love the staying power and the color flecks.
