It’s that time of the year again, time get our act together and go back to school! I’m all about comfort. I can’t be bothered with following trends or pulling the hipster look.
Personal stuff – Believe it or not, I’m still a student and I still have two more years of University to endure. Don’t get me wrong, I love school but I’m 25 (meaning I’m surrounded by people who are 5 years younger than me).
Let’s just say I did some “soul searching” before picking a program in University right after I finished C.E.G.E.P.
Back To School Outfit Ideas
Last year, I got a lot of positive feedback for my Back To School Outfit Ideas video – I guess I’m not the only comfort fiend, after all.
H&M Tank Dress
The basic tank dress is essential for any summer wardrobe and especially to anyone who loves wearing leggings. These dresses are around $15 at H&M; I have one in a neutral brown/beige and another in black. Black is easily the more forgiving and slimming of the two.
Over top of the dress, I’m wearing a thin tan colored belt to accentuate my waist. For a little more coverage and warmth (because sometimes the air conditioning at school makes you freeze) I threw on a denim shirt.
If the weather isn’t warm enough for a dress, you can easily wear this tank dress with a pair of leggings.

H&M Printed Tunic
Tunics are another great option for school. This tunic has a monochromatic floral print with cream thread embroidery around the neck and chest area. As much as leggings are not really trendy any more, they will always be a staple in my lazy day outfits.
I dread the thought of wearing in a tight pair of skinny jeans while sitting in a crowded auditorium during a University seminar.

All Black + A Denim Shirt
The denim button down shirt has been a wardrobe essential in my closet for the passed 3 years. It’s easy and more casual than a cardigan. Since I’m not a huge fan of jean bottoms, chambray shirts always give me the perfect touch of denim.
I paired the denim shirt with a silk racer back tank top, cotton skinny trousers and velvet slippers. Everything is black, but each piece is made in a different fabric and has a different texture. Mixing textures makes monochromatic outfits less bland.

Printed Jeans
I would consider printed jeans to be a difficult look to pull off when you have fuller legs. They can be unflattering. If adding unnecessary weight to your silhouette is a concern, opt for a darker wash.
To tie this look together, I switched out my denim shirt for a dainty cream cardigan.

Velvet Circle Skirt
Circle skirts are so flattering! They highlight the smallest part of your waist and slim you down. If you have a straight figure, they give you a more feminine shape. If you have wider hips, they magically make them appear slimmer.
I definitely recommend this cut because it’s flirty, feminine and flattering.

What will you be wearing on your first week back to school?
