Beauty Box 5 Unboxing

I’ve been curious about Beauty Box 5 after seeing several unboxing/reviews by a fellow Canadian beauty blogger and vlogger, Petite Pear Style. Naturally, when Beauty Box 5 contacted me to try out the service, I accepted.

How could I ever resist another beauty box subscription service, especially when I’m about to go subscription-box-less (as mentioned here)?

This is a subscription-based, beauty sampling program that delivers a box filled with 4-5 cosmetic samples every month. Subscribers receive a mixture of luxury, commonly known brands, niche brands, eco-conscious and even vegan brands. It includes a selection of makeup, hair care, skin care, nail care, fragrances and beauty accessories. Check them out here.

Jean Pierre Oil-Absorbing Tissues

These blotting sheets claim to instantly soak up excess oil & remove shine from the face without smudging make up – find here for $1.99.

The upside about these sheets is that they come in sturdier packaging than my holy grail equate sheets.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed by these. They reminded me of the oil-blotting sheets that I once purchased from Forever 21 (don’t judge me, it had cute packaging). In terms of performance, I would need several sheets to tackle all the oil build up on my oily skin.

Model CO Lip enhancer Illusion nude lip liner

A skin color, soft wax pencil that helps give the illusion of natural, fuller lips. Enriched with emollient natural waxes and butters, comes with an inbuilt sharpener for touch-ups on the go. It corrects uneven lines and defines and suits multiple complexions – find here for $22.

Can I just say, this pen swatches very smoothly and the color is very nice, more on the neutral brown side than nudy pink. It glides on to the lips easily, I feel like this shade will be more flattering on me during the Fall/Winter.

By the way, my current holy grail lip liner is Annabelle Demure.

Bodyography Foundation Primer – Clear

This primer contains natural extracts from green tea and grape seed and is a oil free weightless primer with anti-oxidants, vitamins A and E. Suitable for all skin types, acts as a rejuvenating therapy for dull and tired looking skin giving it a soft, silky smooth and flawless base – find here.

I don’t have much to say about this yet, I have read reviews stating that this primer is better at making foundation application smoother rather than adding longevity.

That’s not always a bad thing, I don’t want anything too potent when I look for a primer. A strong primer can actually clog the skin (hello breakout central).

Ofra Cosmetics 3D Loose Mineral Eye Shadow – Diamond Glitz

A new technology of gorgeous loose eye shadows which provides a luminous, lustrous and glowing effect. It contains natural sun filters like Titanium Dioxide and Vitamin C, and may be applied with a brush wet or dry – find here.

I’m impressed with this shade, it reminds me of MAC Club eye shadow. It has a duo-chrome finish with green reflex. I’m looking forward to wearing this, without a doubt.

Evie Evan Mini Moisture Creme

This a moisturizer that adapts to the hydration needs of any skin type. AM/PM moisturizer eliminates the need for a night creme. This came in an airport friendly 0.5 oz glass jar with a black screw on lid – find here for $13.

The is a slight scent to this that reminds me of sun screen for some reason. Since this cream is designed for AM/PM, I doubt there is any sun protection factor in it. I might just be terrible at perceiving scents.

It has a cooling effect when applied on to the skin due to it’s gel texture. I don’t have final thoughts about this yet.
