GUESS Spring 2014 Preview

Spring 2014 may seem far away, but of course fashion doesn’t hibernate over winter. In fact it is prepared far ahead in time, forgive me for being Ms. Captain Obvious!

All rambling aside, I was invited to the GUESS Spring 2014 Preview to have a peek at their upcoming collection.

GUESS Spring 2014 Preview

As excepted for the warmer season, there’s lot’s of floral print, coral, eyelet textures, lighter denims and some nautical in the mix. I felt like there was a little something for everyone to appreciate, particularly in the way of dresses.

Flares are making a come back for Spring/Summer 2014, which is lovely for anyone who isn’t flattered by skinny jeans. Personally, I’m not the biggest jeans fan girl, but I have a pair of premium GUESS jeans that really flatter my (not so well endowed) derrière.

On to the garments.

This cream colored, perforated leather jacket caught my eye right away. The texture and peplum cut add sophistication and delicacy to the leather jacket. It’s something that would pair well with a bodycon dress or pencil skirt.

Several pairs of jeans had patchwork, including these flares with stripped, floral and eyelet patches.

Above – A baby pink, light weight, cropped sweater with sheer sections and a leather skirt with black leather skirt with zipper detailing.

Below – A top with a sheer polka dotted section, which reminded me of some of Stella McCartney’s designs.

The nautical stripped dress with an a-line cut was up my alley. A-line is a great option for those looking to minimize the waistline and add curves to the hip area. I love the structured cut and the fabric was just right; some stretch fabrics which hug in all the wrong places, but this had a bit of thickness to it.

I’m a fan of the strappy black pumps and the red mini tote.

They’re beginning a line of GUESS classics, a collection of basic pieces, which will be available throughout all seasons. Those items were pictured above on the mannequins. They primarily include denim, bustiers and tops.

I hope you enjoyed the preview. Let me know which piece was your favorite in the comments!
