Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara is also known as Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara and has been available since mid August 2011, and the Canadian product is not fragranced.
With its wand and formula, Hypnose Doll Lashes promises to make eyes look divinely wide open. In other words, expect your lashes to look separated, thick, long, “nylon-shine” lashes: like true doll lashes!
The first thing that draws the eye to this mascara is the curvaceous tube packaging. It has silver and light pink calligraphic lettering with an embellishment representing a shower of rose petals, Lancôme’s symbolic flower.
The brush or wand, rather, offers a level of suppleness to rival an elastomer brush. The nylon, conical brush tip, enables it to capture every lash, even the shortest corner-of-the-eyes ones, in order to separate and lengthen. It claims to offer a volume-enhancing effect to the lashes with smooth, luxurious application.
The “Fiber Shine” formula is smooth and enriched with nylon powders to give the lashes a subtle sheen. It combines supple as well as hard waxes; the former to build volume and the latter to fix lash curvature. Finally, the “Ultrastretch” complex, formulated around lengthening polymers, bestows an instant “lash extension” effect.
Apparently, the Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara is scented with I hypo-allergenic fragrance with feminine floral notes. That version cannot be purchased in Canada.
So, now that the product jargon is out of the way, here is how the product performed on my lashes.
Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara Before and After
As you can see from the pictures above, Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara does add volume and length. Additionally, because of the drier formula, it doesn’t weigh the lashes down and once applied, it actually helps form a curl. Another plus, I did not experience smearing with this mascara.
One thing I will say is that this is not a build-able mascara. I would avoid applying a second coat once this mascara has dried, because it will be a one way ticket to clump city. Like any other mascara, over application will weigh down the lashes because it’s a medium-dry, thicker formula.
When companies come out with different wand shapes and sizes, they will work differently for everyone. I generally have straight long lashes and large eyes. Someone with smaller eyes might not enjoy the larger end of the cone shaped brush applicator.
Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara applied to left and right eye lashes.
What is your favorite Lancome Mascara? Have you tried the Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara?
