Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain Swatches and Review

I got a hold of these two little lovelies in Indian Intrigue and Milan Moment over cocktails and drinks at Suite 701 in Montreal. Revlon held a little casual get together amongst beauty bloggers in Montreal. I couldn’t think of a better way to talk about makeup… over cocktails and appetizers.

We looked over some of the new products from the Rio Rush Collection and the new polishes called Gel Envy (reviewed here), but the Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain caught my eye the most.

You can’t deny Revlon’s talent in the lippie department, they’ve created so many beauty cult favourites (Lip Butters, Balm Stains, Matte and Lacquer Balms just to name a few). Here’s another lip hybrid gloss worth a try, seriously!

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain

The product claims:

Revlon ColorStay™ Moisture Stain uses a formula infused with Vitamin E and Aloe to moisturize without stickiness. Lips are drenched in showstopping colour and creamy moisture.

The product come in 12 shades: Barcelona Nights, Cannes Crush, India Intrigue, LA Exclusive, London Posh, Miami Fever, Milan Moment, New York Scene, Parisian Passion, Rio Rush, Shanghai Sizzle and Stockholm Chic.

The product itself isn’t as thick as the Maybelline Color Elixir, but it isn’t quite like the Lancôme Lip lover either. The one thing it does have in common with other hybrids is that it is actually moisturising!

At first, I was stunned at how patchy these applied and I felt they clinged strangely to non-dry areas of my lips. I bet you couldn’t tell that from the lip swatches above. I spread the product over my lip in an attempt to get even coverage. Things more or less evened out with the second coat. That being said, this is a two coater gloss if not just for the coverage, but to get full color saturation too.

Out of the two shade I have swatched on my lips above, India Intrigue is my favourite.

For anyone who is sensitive to scents, you will be happy to know these do not have a notable scent.

These will be launching in Canada in the month of June, but I’ve already seen them on American beauty blogs. They will retail for $12.95 CAN and come in a range of 12 shades.
