IT Cosmetics CC Full Coverage Cream Review

I have toted the IT Cosmetics CC cream as one of my favourite complexion products for a long time. I like the way it applies and wears for the most part, or at least I thought I did! More on that later.

This post and video review will be a foundation wear test on oily acne prone skin, how it looks in flash photo and natural light along with its performance with and without primer.

IT Cosmetics CC Full Coverage Cream Medium

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream is a bestselling and award-winning full coverage color-correcting cream (hence the CC). It’s designed with dry to normal skin in mind, although it has a limited range of 12 shades.

The cream smooths the texture of skin and enhances brightness with a cocktail of ingredients that are similar to that of an anti-age serum. Think hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and antioxidants. This CC cream has SPF +50 and is talc-free, and not tested on animals.

For the purpose of this wear test and review, I primed one side of my face with Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer and finished off the application with a bit of MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Microfinishing Pressed Powder.

In addition to the foundation, I used the L’Oréal Infallible More Than Concealer in 327 Cashmere which I compared with the CoverGirl version you can check out here.

Thinking about it now, I find it weird they call a CC cream full coverage. I consider a CC cream to be somewhere in between BB (beauty balm) and foundation, meaning it is more like a medium buildable coverage.

This definitely corrects imperfections but is not opaque enough to cover agressive acne or red bumps on its own.

Is the IT Cosmetics CC Full Coverage Cream worth it?

Before blotting, after 7 hours of wear, the CC cream coverage looked great but the accumulated oil was staggering. The product had also gathered around the folds of my nostrils, the sides of my nose… what is that called exactly?

I looked very hydrated! However, I don’t see myself reaching for this foundation on a long day unless I’m willing to blot or touch up with powder foundation or translucent powder.

I was taken by surprise because this is a product I have toted as one of my favourites. After having done multiple foundation wear tests in the last month, I’m much less impressed by the result.

Have you tried the IT Cosmetics CC Cream? If so, what is your shade and skin type – how did it fare on you!?
